Do you find it hard to eat healthy? Do you always find yourself eating junk food and feeling guilty about it? Well, you need to learn how to balance these elements out. For example, I have quite a few friends who went over board about dieting. Friends that have tried all different kinds of diets. When these friends of mine went on their extreme diets, I would see them incredibly unhappy. Extreme dieting tends to make people think unrealistically about what they can and cannot eat. Healthy eating is about both mental and physical actions. I have friends that have have gone on plenty of diets, thinking that they would not have to exercise to loose weight. Because of this, they did not change at all from any of their diets. Going on the right diet depends on the person and their own personal goals.
If someone is going on a diet due to their physical appearance, they will most likely have
to exercise. Only eating healthy will not help a person loose very much weight. While someone
may be so focused on fixing their physical appearance in the essence of dieting, they may be miserable and stressed about it. “I can’t eat that!” “Nope, that’ll make me fat!” “Where is the fruit?!”. Listen, it is okay to have a sweet sometimes. One sweet will not make you fat. Eating Cheetos in front of your flatscreen while watching old re-runs of Friends all day everyday is what will make someone gain weight. You are not a pig if you treat yourself every so often. Do not be a fanatic about dieting. Be confident about your looks, yet eager to improve them. Feel good about what you’re eating, and understand why you’re eating it while you are on a diet.
Be smart about what kind of diet you are trusting. Look into it, look into who has used it, who has rated it, and of course what the requirements are as far as what you will be eating and not eating goes. Personally, I do not even look into actual dieting. As most people have knowledge as to what is healthy and not healthy, I focus on eating what I know is healthy. For a while, I was into extreme dieting. I found myself always stressed out and my mouth would water at the sight of a sweet. I soon realized that dieting is to improve myself, not to stress myself out, or to make me unhappy. Nowadays, I exercise very often, eat healthy food, and treat myself every so often. I am happy, and I feel good about what I eat and how often I eat it. I tried a few diets, even considered being vegan or vegetarian! Although they did not work for me, this does not mean that someone else would not find joy in them. I encourage everyone to find a diet that fits their needs and satisfies them both physically and emotionally. Do not expect to look amazing soley because of a diet, think about including exercising into your schedule. Do not go too extreme, it tends to not work for most people. Most of all, don’t just be healthy. Be happy!
