Season 2 of House of DVF is back on E! and we can expect new drama, new projects, and of course, new styles. The first episode aired on Sunday, September 20th and we are already inspired by the casts’ fashion styles and trends.
The girls are showcasing their personal style and becoming our fall and winter inspirations. There is a variety of different personalities like, Alli Davis, better known as “Alli from the Valley." She is the epitome of a valley girl from California who brings an upbeat personality to the table. Another candidate named Maytee Martinez has become an inspiration for women every after sharing her story about being bullied when she was younger and now making her way to a well-known model. She has worked for Dior, Robert Cavalli, and Valentino. As for, Chantal Trujillo, she is a jewelry market assistant for Vogue. All the girls have different experiences in fashion that it looks like it will be difficult to choose who the winner will be.
In the first episode, Diane gives the girls their first task which is to create an inspiration board using photos they’ve taken around New York City. She chooses two girls with the best inspiration boards and surprises them with a trip to Paris Fashion Week to work on a magazine spread, and the competition gets heated.. Since it is fashion month, we get our own sneak peek of what fashion week is like.So far my favorite candidate is Alli Davis but the variety of different styles makes it hard to choose who wore our favorite outfits from episode one. Diane von Furstenberg is queen of prints so you can expect bright prints in different colors for season 2. However, the girls are also sporting monochromatic outfits and pairing different fabrics together like wool, leather, and fur. This season, we will expect big leather bags, felt hats, and fur jackets.
A must have fall fashion item is definitely the pleather pants that three of the girls are sporting in the picture above. It’s a recurring trend making its way into this season for the colder weather. Now you have a new edgy alternative to plain black jeans. Wearing unique fabrics has become a big trend over the seasons because it showcases a very fashion forward style.
Back in Paris, France, Leigh Fidler and Cat Wennekamp assisted Diane during Paris fashion week wearing a variety of different colors, prints, and fabrics. Leigh and Cat both wear DVF printed wrap dresses during their assignment and now we want one too! The dresses are so classic and showcase a woman's body elegantly yet, the bright colors and funky prints are youthful and chic.
Different colors should be incorporated into our outfits more often because their uniqueness will make you shine above others! Bright colors shouldn’t be intimidating during any season of the year. Incorporate color with statement pieces like Cat’s electric blue suede jacket.
Also, Leigh’s bohemian style is another huge trend that seems to be making its transition into fall as well. She wears a simple floral print top but her chunky bracelets and rings giver her a nice edge. By adding layers of jewelry, you can take your outfit to the next level.
We love House of DVF and cannot wait for the next episode for more trends from the candidates! -Angela @AngelakRod
