"Worst Dressed" at the Emmy's 2015

Sometimes I look at articles that separate celebrities into “best-dressed” and “worst-dressed” categories and think to myself, “That’s so mean!” They are all trying their best to dress uniquely and wearing super expensive designer clothes that I would never even dream about touching, yet we choose to choose to judge them. However, I realized “worst-dressed” refers to the fact that they could have done better. Way better. I am no fashion expert, but my eye does not fail to catch something funky.

Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum appeared at the Emmys wearing a gown from Atelier Versace. She’s been so heavily criticized for modest reasons. First of all she’s wearing way too much yellow: hair, dress, and shoes. Adding to that obscure fact, it’s the same exact color yellow. Next, there’s way too much going on with her dress. If the dress was covered by the design on the right side, it would have been astonishingly beautiful, sexy, and trendy. But the drape-y design on the left makes her look older and larger and like what the public has been calling her, “Big Bird”. She could have done way better.

Joanna Newsom

A gown by Delpozo, Joanna Newsom stood proud and confident, but a lot about this gown is far off from the trends of the red carpet. The top half of her dress is very elegant and artistic, but the bottom half looks like a hot mess. The inside darker pink fabric ruins the whole image of elegance by making the dress look cheaper. Maybe they ran out of fabric to continue the dress in the front? Doubt it. There was no point for two layers of skirt, especially because there are way too many wrinkles in the inside and none on the outside.

January Jones

Gorgeous January Jones showed up at the Emmys 2015 wearing a Ulyana Sergeenko emerald jumpsuit. The jumpsuit fits her body perfectly and the color looks amazing on her, but there was no wow factor about her outfit. I mean, it’s the Emmys. There could have been more jewelry or much more stylistic design to the jumpsuit. Also, the color palette and the star on her waist jumps makes me see her as a mermaid. Mermaids are great, but not at the Emmys.

Tracee Ellis Ross

A cute dress by Zac Posen, Tracee Ellis Ross was too mature for the dress. The pink, layered, and frilly dress was not the best alternative for the awards night. The chest area looks out-of-place and awkward because there is no subtleness to the dress. Although the cup-shapes are reasonable on a corset or a bralette, in this dress, they seem rather sharp and distracting.

All these beautiful actors COULD have done better. They all looked gorgeous and unique in their own ways and designers as well created stunning dresses for the red carpet. However, the dress didn’t fit with the actor or the trend was not part of this year’s red carpet. But on this note, let’s end with pictures of these unfairly gorgeous people who rocked the red carpet.

(^ She’s only 16!!!)

till next time and lots of love,
