This month Omics Live wanted to try something new and exciting. We decided to invite our interns to an energetic, fresh, and interesting event by the name of StyleCon. StyleCon is an event that encompasses fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. StyleCon is the playground for all fashionistas, beauty lovers, and trendsetters. This event gave the Omics Live team the opportunity to surround themselves with like-minded style fans giving them a space to freely engage with one another.
StyleCon also was a learning experience as it provided awesome presentations. StyleCon provided you with the option to shop around with various pop up shops, beauty bars, and lounges. Our awesome intern Narita said:
This was my first time at a fashion convention and I loved it so much. I got to meet and chitchat with inspiring people like Tess Holiday; she makes us feel comfortable in our body and to embrace it. I'm such a beauty addict; all the makeup booths there were heaven to me, especially Morphe- I love their brushes! It was very interesting to come to a place where fashion meets beauty and connecting with all the fashion and beauty lovers. I also feel that it is the perfect way to try out new things and see the latest trend in fashion. I won't miss another StyleCon event!
StyleCon is more of an experience than an event. You will take away more than you could of ever imagined. Being surrounded by others who share such an intense passion for all things beauty makes you feel at home and gives you a sense of community.
Another one of our amazing interns, Karo, interviewed a fashion blogger by the name of “Simple Auna” (http://www.simplyauna.com/). Simple Auna has a following of 14.7 thousand people on Instagram. Our intern Karo asked this fashion blogger questions along the lines of how she got started fashion blogging as well as what are some of her fav trends this season.
Omics Live is ecstatic that we were able to attend this event with some of our adventure-seeking interns. This entire experience was a great learning and networking opportunity and we cannot wait for the StyleCon 2016!
