Cake, Crowd Surfing & Meeting with Hoodie
Hoodie Allen gave a performance worth much more than the measly $39 ticket price last
Wednesday. His show was absolutely captivating. With his enthusiasm and energy, there
was never a dull moment. Beginning with one of his most famous songs, “No Faith in
Brooklyn”, the crowd went wild, hyped for the rest of the night. Everyone was singing and
dancing, jumping up and down. Being tha the venue was at The Observatory in Santa Ana,
it was the perfect location for a small, intimate concert. Of course, as he always does, he
began to throw cake in the middle of the room while singing his song “Cake”. Thankfully, I
wasn't pelted with cake but, the rest of my friends were. It didn’t seem to bother them
much, they love red velvet. As we were singing along to one of Hoodie’s songs, he jumped
into the crowd on an inflatable raft, turning crowd surfing into crowd tubing. Being in the
middle of the moshpit, I could hardly see over the crowd as I am sadly a small 5”2 19 year
old girl, but I slowly made my way to the front, just in time for his last performance of “No
Interruption”. The room in unison was belting out his infamous song, knowing the concert
was coming to an end. Before he walked off stage he made sure to drench the entire crowd
in water from his numerous bottles left onstage. Even after we were able to meet with him,
of course after purchasing merchandise. All in all, Hoodie is really nice guy who knows how
to put on a hell of a performance. Definitely recommend everyone who knows Hoodie to
see him once in your lifetime.
